In September 2014, SKS Engineers was approached by Curry Construction, Inc. about designing a new fertilizer distribution center for the Helena Chemical Company outside of Mattoon, IL. The proposed construction would consist of a wood-frame fertilizer building, pre-engineered metal buildings including a dry chemical storage building, a shop building, an office building, and a gas pressure vessel. SKS provided structural and foundation designs for these structures, as well as HVAC design for the office building. We additionally provided a site storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) and applied on behalf of the Helena Chemical Company for an IDOT entrance permit.
SKS continued to provide designs for Curry Construction, including a tank leakage confinement enclosure and conveyor leg foundations, until August 2015.
